A Thermal Imaging Inspection is a non-invasive way of evaluating temperature variations. It can identify problems in structure, air leakages, water intrusion, plumbing leakages and inadequate or non-existent insulation. Often, issues like these can go undetected and can cause extensive damage to your home over a period of time. I use an Flir E4.
Using a Thermal Imager, I was able to determine that water from an exterior spigot was finding its way into the basement of a home. It is one of many tools that I use to provide the highest quality inspection possible.
I use a thermal imager during home inspections to assist in the overall visual examination of a home that clients are selling/buying/maintaining. This is a leak that I discovered. The quote to repair this leak ended up being $3500.
